Almost Abbey Road

Starting to get the pattern now; strong fresh coffee to drive away the clouds from your head, long power walk with stunning views, liquid refreshment, more stunning views, a quick cool down swim on the beach, check out the surf, home for a shower, out for a swift drink to catch the famous bars, back home for supper with friends and wake up with a head full of clouds. That was a quick blog!

Sadly we have to leave and head back to Brisbane today as soon as Claire and Lynn get back from their power walk. We will not have time to visit my Mums friends on the way back as we have to have the car back today. Can’t quite understand why it’s not tomorrow because we picked it up at 11am on 5th, booked it for four days and have to take it back on the 8th. That means if we had only had one day we would have had to take it back the same day. Maybe we will get time when we are back to Brisbane before flying off to LA.

We started our walk from Brunswick Heads along the river to the sea where the lads practice their moves on their surf boards. We saw a typical Ozzy lad from the car today as we were driving through town; blond hair wild in the wind, no shirt no shoes just surf pants, sand still on his face and crossing the road whilst eating a gourmet pie. The girls couldn’t take their eyes off him.

Ever since we have been here we have been spotting the camper vans painted in typical 1960’s style; love and flower power the theme and they are everywhere, someone must be making a fortune. I love them; we even spotted a London double Decker done in the same style.

We popped into the farmers market to get the fresh produce that we needed for our Thai themed evening feast. Lynn was making glass noodle salad while I made Claire’s all time favourite Thai chicken green curry with a punch. We still had time for a quick look at The Byron Hotel and the Brewery where there was a local band playing. All and Barb must have smelled the curry from their house and came to join us; another great night discussing world politics (or bollocks) and putting the world right; what a shame this little clutch of drunken Poms and Ozzies don’t run things, just think how much better the world might be? We are going to miss you Mick and Lynn, we owe you one; I can’t wait to have a go at getting even!!!
